I think this should be good
Yamato intends to walk on by except a ball comes flying in his direction. Without really thinking, he grabs for it so that it doesn't keep going across the park. Keeping hold of the ball he moves onto the field to return it.]
Here, looks like it got away from you.
[The game of soccer reminds him of one of his friends. Taichi was always playing soccer whenever they were in this world.]

... Although, it's been a while. The ball's gotten away from him. But there's a kind enough soul coming over to return the ball. Endou gives him a cheery wave and a grin.] Yeah, sorry about that! Thanks.

[What was it with boys and their mecha? Why was nearly every male in her life a pilot or a fanatic? Maybe it was her. Because she was one of the Whispered. Her head was full of all kinds of knowledge that Kaname didn't quite understand - didn't understand but could spout off to others.
She's been sitting around this hangar with all kinds of mechanics milling about waiting for something different to happen. To be able to leave behind the smell of grease and testosterone and maybe actually get some fresh air. Her patience only extends so far and it's quickly reaching the end of her limit.
Kanames's eyes move to where the open hatch is to the nearby Gundam. Inside was the teenager Coordinator who the machine belonged to. She leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, eyes narrowing as if that will make him finish sooner. Maintenance on these things was extremely important. No one wanted a mecha to malfunction in the middle of a battle but she can only watch people move back and forth across the hangar for so long.
Finally she sighed and got to her feet, leaving behind the crate she'd been sitting on for the last two hours. Next time she swore that she'd bring something to read at least. Or maybe her schoolbooks so she could at least study. Crossing the catwalk is quick and once Kaname reaches the hatch, she pokes her head into the cockpit - daring to cross the space in between.]
Aren't you done yet? You've been in there for a while and the cafeteria is going to stop serving lunch soon.

It also means that these tests take a long time.]
I just need two more minutes. This diagnostics test is at 95 percent.
[Then, he looks up from the console. There's a curious expression on his face.]
Have you eaten yet? You don't need to wait on me if you haven't.

Which is why she hasn't interrupted him as of yet.]
If you're not done in five, I'm dragging you out to get some food and exercise - even if it's just walking to the cafeteria.
[Arms cross over her chest to show just how serious she was about her words.]
Not yet. Someone has to make sure you don't skip any more meals than you already do. You probably would have refused to eat in here if I'd brought you something.
[No crumbs inside the Gundam cockpit.]

Two minutes. I promise. I don't want you missing a meal on my account.
[In spite of Kaname's nagging, Athrun cares about her. He wants her to be as happy and healthy as possible, so making sure she's fed is part of that.]
Er...
[He pauses before he finally says it aloud.]
Thanks for sticking with me. I may not always say it, but I do appreciate it.
