[Now Velvet turns, leaning back on the rail as Laphicet attempted to figure out where he might call home. Once upon a time she would have said her hometown of Aball was hers though in truth it was merely the place where the people she cared about lived. Now it probably stood empty, an echo of the lively little village that it once was. The people who she loved were dead or should be.

Never once has she considered that prison her home, though. Not even now that they've taken it over as a base. This ship wasn't one either. She looks up at the billowing white sails against the dark sky.]


Home can be anywhere because it's a feeling. It's where you want to be even when you're not there. Some people find that home is a town or a building, maybe even a ship such as our pirate acquaintances. Others find their home is with other people. Doesn't matter where you are just so long as you get to be with the person or people who gives you that feeling.
